OK, first things first: perhaps you already know what you want to buy. At this point you need to think carefully! If it’s skin-tight, red rubber or crotchless, your generosity might not be quite so appreciated by your other half. And, you are meant to be buying a present for her – NOT yourself! If, however, she normally does wear that kind of thing, you probably need to visit another website – sorry!
Take a look at the kind of lingerie she already owns, and wears, on a regular basis. This will give you an idea of the colours and styles she prefers. The world of bras can seem a pretty complicated one, so to make things easier for the man on a mission, here’s what you need to be looking for:
Does she prefer under-wired bras? You’ll be able to feel the wire around the sides and bottom of the bra if this is the case.
How much of her breasts are covered by the bra? If it’s almost everything, she probably prefers full cup bras. If, on the other hand, the bras she wears seem quite low, you’ll need to look at plunge or balconette bras.
Sneak a peek at the size labels of some of the bras she wears regularly and that seem to fit her well. Yes, we know it’s risky, but while we can help point you in the direction of items we think she might like, we need to know a rough idea of her size – so “a good handful” really isn’t going to help! You’re looking for a figure that says something like 36E or 32G in bras and either S, M, L or 12, 14, 16 etc in knickers.
And mentioning knickers, what kind does she wear? This isn’t quite such a crucial issue as most women will wear a variety of different styles. The main ones are:
- Shorts – tend to go straight along the top of the leg
- Briefs – cut to go up at the hips
- Thongs – just a thin strip at the back.
